Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lowell provides cost effective, innovative and long-term interventions in the lives of kids who lack ample adult guidance and friendship. We touch the lives of at-risk youth in a variety of ways every day. Through our school-based and one-on-one mentoring programs, we match caring adult volunteers with children in need of support. Through our afterschool and summer programming, we help underserved youth navigate a maze of risk factors and stay on track.
Despite the challenges of diminished funding, we continue to diversify our programs and reach out to a growing number of deserving young people. We are often the first organization that a troubled family reaches out to in a time of crisis. Our mentorship model is well-known and non-threatening; our services are offered at no charge. As a result, we become a point of entry and a gateway to assistance for families who haven’t reached out for help before.
Please consider investing in the lives of children in our community. We have nearly 100 children on our waiting list for big brothers and sisters, and we face more demand for school-based mentors than we can currently manage.
