BIG Opportunities
We are always excited about the potential of new volunteers! We have two programs to offer volunteers; the traditional program and the school-based program. For liability reasons, volunteers need to be over the age of 18 for both programs. In the traditional program, you are matched with a child in the community that you can take out and explore interests together. The time that you meet with the child is flexible and can vary from week to week. The activities also do not have to be extravagant. It can be as simple as hanging around your home, watching movies, going grocery shopping. We do ask that volunteers in this program make a year time commitment to see the child once a week for a few hours. Online Application.
In the school-based program, you meet with a child at a school, at a set day and time for just one hour a week. Half the time is spent on school work/academics and the other half is spent recreationally. We currently are in schools in Lowell and Billerica and work with children in elementary and middle school. This is a great way for volunteers in the area to get involved, especially if they have families or other outside obligations that may prohibit them from making a commitment to the traditional program.
There are two ways to submit an application. You may submit an online application, or you may print out an application and mail it to:
